Growing Street Storage to be larger than London.

Current Street Storage locations:

Do you have:

❓A great space that isn’t being used to it’s full capacity

❓A local homelessness community who are leaving bags on the street to get lost, stolen or damaged - or carrying items around that are preventing them from being free?

❓A committed network of staff, volunteers or supportive wider organisations (homelessness, Local Authority, national and grassroots charities, prisons, foodbanks refuges etc?)

❓Time/Capacity/Drive to know this is a need in your area and make it happen?

Would you like to set up a Street Storage service in your area?

✅Gives your local homelessness community the ability to store items for free + keep them safe

✅People experiencing homelessness are left physically and mentally lighter every day

✅Allows people to work, secure housing, reconnect with their family and education

✅Improves relationships with the general public, Local Authority, business district and police

✅Connects you to local support, corporate donors, opens up local funding opportunities

✅Connects you to a network of people providing and prioritising storage for people experiencing homelessness across the country (advice, guidance, support and resources)

Bringing Street Storage to you:

The Street Storage Membership Network.

Street Storage was founded in London in 2019 and has since spent years specialising in offering storage to people experiencing homelessness. We are still the only charity doing this in the UK.

We are now offering our expertise to voluntary and statutory organisations across the country through our Centralised Model or our Consultation Model.

Centralised Model

For larger cities, Street Storage funds this work specifically and centrally or in partnership with Local Authorities: engaging local staff and volunteers, partner organisations, securing suitable property and developing networks and having full oversight of the project from start to finish.

Get in touch with our CEO Rachel Woolf on rachel.woolf@streetstorage.org to learn more.

Consultation Model

For smaller cities/towns. Street Storage receives a small fee to provide a tailored package of support including face to face and virtual consultancy sessions, legal support, advice, guidance, resources (including our ‘How To’ Manual, risk assessments, launch checklists and policies), training for you and your staff, as well as staff support every step of the way, working with you to design your project in your way from initial idea to successful completion.

Both these models are tailored to your location and we will visit and review progress at various stages so don’t worry, you won’t be alone!

Hear from some of our existing UK services:

Cheltenham:

“We’ve really valued the partnership approach in setting up the replicated units in our area. The initial staff training was excellent, and the ongoing support from you and the team has made the process feel collaborative, with challenges shared and solutions developed together.”

Gareth Edwards, CCP’s Deputy Chief Executive Officer.

Cambridge:

“Street Storage Cambridge opened its doors to storers in March 2025, after months of reparation supported by the London team. We have had a number of individuals store with us for short and long periods, each of whom have benefited from the peace of mind that their belongings were secure while they navigated tough periods of life.”

Rory, Service Manager at It Takes a City.
