Providing vital access to - and storage for - people experiencing homelessness

A big thumbs up for this new, well thought out, safe-to-lay-your-burden-down-a-while initiative helping people in need. An obvious n.f.a missing link now that it’s being fixed.

How exactly do we work?

The process:

A person makes a referral on our website or via a phone call.

The person is contacted and a time is arranged for them to bring their belongings to our storage unit.

The person arrives for their appointment. During this process, we need to go through what’s inside the bag, list any valuables, test all electronics and then the agreement form is read over and is signed. This is done in a separate and private room.

Once stored, the person is free to drop in at any point during our opening hours to either relax in the space or access their belongings.

Why are we needed?

  1. The scale of rough sleeping in London makes the need for storage impossible to ignore. Between October and December 2025, 4,841 people were recorded sleeping rough in London, a 5% rise on the same period the year before.

  2. When someone loses their housing suddenly, they face an impossible situation. They need somewhere safe to store what they own: documents, clothes, the things that make a life. Without a safe place for their belongings, the risk of losing everything permanently becomes very real, making it even harder to rebuild and move forward.

  3. Storage in London is a luxury that many simply cannot afford. The average cost of a small 10ft unit amounts to around £2,700 a year. For people living with little money, that is a choice between keeping their belongings and eating.
